Outdoor Café Blinds

Café blinds used to be the outdoor blind of choice for pubs, restaurants and cafés wanting to protect their patrons from the weather all year round. As I have discovered however, these outdoor blinds are extremely popular with home owners wanting a crystal clear, unobstructed view of their garden while completely blocking out the rain and wind.
A Café blind is made from PVC and can be clear or tinted to provide some protection from the Sun too. It’s important to note that not all PVC used in outdoor café blinds is the same. Hardware stores and even many outdoor blind manufacturers stock and supply cheap laminated PVC versions, with some notable exceptions such as Inviron who use marine quality extruded PVC when making up their custom outdoor blinds.

There are a number of ways to hang a café blind. The old way was to use a crank handle to wind your blind up and down, then fix the blind to the floor with ropes or eye-hooks leaving a gap at the bottom.
These days, using the Australian patented Ziptrak Track Guided Blind System, you can simply slide your café blind up or down with one hand and perhaps best of all, you can lock the blind to the floor so there are no gaps to let in drafts or insects.
