One of the simple yoga exercises you can perform in your own home, the Bird Dog is great for beginners and advanced exercise fanatics alike. Requiring little to no equipment, it is one of the easiest abdominal exercises that will help tone your abdominal muscle area.
Target Muscle: Transversus Abdominus.
How To Perform The Bird Dog Abominal Exercise
Starting position: On your hands and knees, hands placed directly under shoulders and knees directly under hips.
Exercise: Holding a natural curve in your spine, slowly lift your left arm and right leg so that the hand and foot line up with your shoulders and hips.
Hold for 2-3 seconds. Lower, then repeat with the opposite arm and leg.
Repeat 15 times each side.
